Before we dig into the goat tools and homesteading supplies recommended by our community, here’s a little context — and a fun behind-the-scenes look at how this guide came together.
I thought it would be fun to create a curated list of favorite goat items from our Goats 365 members — anything from a screaming goat toy to a pair of hoof trimmers or a milk bucket. I asked everyone in our private community to share their favorite products and include why they love it, as well as tips about using it.
Spoiler alert: No one had a favorite screaming goat toy! But they did give us a long list of things they use and love on their homestead and with their goats.
Whether you’re building your own wish list, upgrading your farm setup, or looking for reliable tools recommended by real goat owners, this curated guide from our Goats 365 community is a great place to start.

The adjustable feet make it easy to level on uneven surfaces, and it’s very accurate — I tested it with known weights. It’s big enough for large goats and even other livestock. It goes up to 1,200 lbs, and the platform is generously sized. For what it is, it’s not overly expensive.”

Member review:
Carla explains: “Each piece comes 36” x 36”, and I cut it down and serge the edges to fit my cheese forms. When using it in a cheese press, it isn’t quite dense enough to prevent curds from squeezing through, so I use a double layer. Otherwise, it works great for hanging cheese to drain.”
