Butternut Squash Soup

  • 1 pound butternut squash
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon 5-spice blend


  • Cook butternut squash until it can be mashed with a fork.
  • Transfer to a blender.
  • Add 3 tablespoons butter and 5-spice blend or other spices.
  • Blend until creamy.
  • Pour into bowls and serve!


If you don't have 5-spice blend on hand, you can simply use cinnamon or cloves.
